Otamatea Aero Club

The Otamatea Aero Club operates from Ruawai Airfield, 5 km west of the Ruawai township. Established in 1964 by a syndicate, each member putting in 100 pounds, it opened the airfield in 1965 and became an incorporated society on 27 October 1967. Our club plane LPR is an Alpi 200 microlight.

We are privileged to be surrounded by beautiful scenery: to the southwest the beach stretches to North Head, and to the east a fiord-like area around Pahi.
